We're John Mark and Emily. We expatriated to China from the US in 2011. We're full-time ESL teachers and full-time foodies. We both love eating and cooking, and sharing our experiences with both. Since moving to China, we've had to adapt to new ingredients and a new atmosphere. We've experienced and acquired as new and bizarre tastes. We've picked up on and experienced new cultures and flavors as we've lived in Guangdong, China and traveled throughout China,Southeast Asia, South Asia. Our travel experience has impacted our cooking as we've picked up new ingredients and flavors in our travel, from the pungent fish sauce of Thailand to the 麻 ma flavor (spicy, numbing peppercorn) of Sichuan to the simple, fresh Cantonese cooking.
